Ford Transit Warranty
Do you fully understand the terms and conditions of your New Ford Transit Warranty?
All new Ford Commercials are currently covered by a three-year warranty.
Ford Transit and Ford Transit Connect are currently covered by 3 year/100,000 mile warranty (whichever soonest). The warranty starts on the date of first registration and is described as base warranty.
It is important to fully understand what is covered under the base warranty as some items are subject to routine maintenance or wear and tear conditions. These items are only covered by the Ford Base Warranty up to the first point at which replacement or adjustment becomes due – Full details of the Base Warranty can be found either in your handbook or on the Ford website at www.ford.co.uk
Paint Warranty
Examples of what are excluded are airborne contamination, storm damage, stone chips, scratches and the use of unsuitable cleaning agent.
Corrosion Protection Warranty
As we understand it the bodywork is covered for up to 12 years against rust corrosion from inside or underside. There are conditions that apply and visiting Ford.co.uk will provide you with details of cover and exclusions.
Asking your Ford Dealer when your body and paint checks are due and ensuring any defects identified are repaired in a timely manner may help to avoid problems.
It is also worth a mention that items such as brake pads, brake shoes and clutch friction linings are not covered for wear and tear or abuse.
Extended Warranty
Ford Protect Commercial Vehicle Extended Warranty Plans are available for Ford Transit and Connect and provides for unlimited mileage cover up to 5 years from date of first registration – For pricing and full details of cover call 0870 241 6726
